I think it will work best if it looks different in every community - for some it might be meals cooked from your hobby farm produce, in others it's addressing the risk of flooding by building up environmentak services (wetlands etc), in others it's preserving local open lands and the tree canopy, …

Everyone is selfish to some degree. I don't personally find telling people they are selfish or that I view myself as less selfish to be an effective strategy to change behavior but I'm not a behavioral economist.

A vegetarian diet is definitely cheaper. But a lot of people prefer chicken (or beef) to lentils, for example. New ways of thinking about vegetarian meals - easy, fast, cheap, and delicious - helps.

In our house, one of the easiest and healthiest veggie meals that my kids love is fondue - with bread, apples, roasted potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms and we add a vegetarian sausage 😋
