It's my birthday today.

Looks a bit different this year than usual.

100% traumatised me as a young kid.

Dad has been dabbling with astro photography and has just shared this with me.

Oh no! I didn't know this having previously not been remotely interested in The Finals...I played the server slam at the weekend and thought it had some real potential.

Now put off. Such a shame because I really liked the retro future vibe it was giving off.

Need to play more, because there's things happening that I don't understand at present.
Can see there's lots of clues that indicate activity, that over time I'll get better at reading in the same way that Hunt provides clues.

I'm intrigued by the game-loop. Keen to understand how that evolves over time. Had unsuccessful PvP encounter, they took me by surprise at extraction, which I liked, suggests a hunt/be hunted vibe which I'm into.
This might be my next obsession.

Been on the #ArcRaidersServerSlam this morning. I like what I've played a lot. The retro-future vibe is so good. Audio is a stand-out, creepy little synth vibes and robotic bleeping creating atmosphere. Visually gorgeous too.
3rd person gunplay feels good too actually, don't mind it.

Anyway. I've been having a good time. Some of the maps are a bit bobbins. Sobeck city looks great, but fuck me that sniper alley between A C & E points is atrocious.

The second specialisation for the support class doesn't have the de-fibs...I think it may make the situation worse because although the drag is an awesome feature, it does take a while to perform.

I've noticed a subtle change in the past few days I've played. There seems to be a lot more players actually playing their medic role. I've played breakthrough a bit and had some godly rezzes done on me.

I usually play medic, but I'm a bit concerned that that the support/medic role are the same...

They certainly look like they are.

Doing ok in #BF6 haven't played a fast paced shooter in some time. My FPS has been mainly #HuntShowdown for the past few yrs. I'm very much a PTFO player and yet still holding a respectable 1.8 k/d. I may have creaking middle aged joints but it seems I can still shoot in a reasonable straight line 🙌🏻

Yeah. Really disappointing.

Also, I'm not sure if this is because of the environment we're all living in now, but I'm so over America self mytholgising itself as some arbiter of peace and the defaqto "good guys"

3 chapters down on the #BF6 campaign and I can confidently say that it is utter bobbins.

It feels forced, character VA sounds dialled in. Missions are by the numbers. Exceedingly dull.

My favourite books are those that look like they've been read over and over again.

I recently (last year) ditched the kindle in favour of books and instantly remembered that having the thing in my hands, and listening to the sound of the pages as I turn them is part of the joy I get from reading.
