Obviously they have names as well as titles, some tied into Proto-Indo-European etymologies because what's the point in making a pantheon if you're not going to get super nerdy about it?

This pantheon was inspired by a lot of things but my thinking on fantasy religion is deeply influenced by Bujold's world of the Five Gods and the nature of the Regents was also inspired by some of genius photographer @kp11studios.bsky.social's threads on the roles of Hindu gods.

Different people find aspects of their lives fall in line with different regents at different times. Those whose life is particularly aligned with one may earn a Regent's Touch - a little magic that allows them to reach slightly beyond what most people are capable of.

It's uncontroversial that Fantasy's romance with kingship is problematic, but I've noticed that republics in the genre seldom fare better. They always seem corrupt, undermined, or otherwise rotten to the core. There are fantasy kingdoms I would rather live in than any fantasy republic I've read.

People complain about Shania law but lots of Londoners are happy so it can't be that bad.

Talking about this in our morning meeting with the other olds on the team and I've thing came up was that people smoked everywhere. It's a much better time to be a non-smoker.

Also if we get my platform off the ground and making income I can't help but notice people need jobs. I'd rather have a team empowered to help out users than a computer that makes stuff up.

This is presumably why I'll never be a billionaire.

It's Bandcamp Friday and one tip I have is to see what is under a weird tag. For example I found this rather gorgeous slice of sad girl music under the tag 'girl':

They're so bad! I can search an FAQ - if I'm using the chatbot I am looking for asynchronous help from a human without the hassle of needing to get in a phone queue. I have never seen an automated chatbot that helped me as a customer but I have cancelled accounts because that was the contact method.

And for some reason those footprints did NOT belong to the only person making any money out of the whole deal.
