A lot of people standing outside of McDougall Centre, a provincial government office and meeting space. They're holding signs and most people are dressed in red.

The AB teachers rally in Calgary today, at McDougall Centre

I tried to get pics up close but it was way too packed to get a good spot. Biggest rally at McDougall I've ever seen.

Bonta: Just minutes before the hearing, we got word that the Texas National Guard has been federalized.

We asked the judge to issue a broad order β€” one that applies to every National Guard unit in every state β€” stating that none of them can be deployed to Oregon.

She issued that order

For me, it was when he started paying Nazis to post there.

I can't help make money for a platform that pays Nazis.

100%, and this is good insight.

Like a government, on a social medium you don't control your audience, and they are somewhat free to leave with restrictions and frustration, similar to many populations in a Western industrialised government.

I'd trust commercial N95s for about 10 years after manufacturing, but probably not 50 years, as long as they are dry.

Different manufacturers had different levels of overperformance after 6 to 10 years, with the 3M 8210s holding up at a 97+% performance level under serious testing after 7 years.

Vicusi et al. 2009 did a study on 6 to 10-year old N95s held in warehouse conditions (heated but not humidity controlled) in 2007, and 19 of 21 tested models were still performing better than the N95 standard, while 2 were marginal (passed the KN94 standard).

The N95s are overdesigned to allow for electret degradation over the posted lifespan of the mask in many different conditions, so there is quite a bit of wiggle room in normal conditions. This varies by manufacturer.

06.10.2025 09:01 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Hey, folks.

N95 masks generally fail by embrittlement of the rubber on their straps. As long as they are kept dry, the electrostatic charge on the electret polypropylene fibers in the filter paper will retain their charge.

I would have pantsed the guy or crushed his glasses or something and got myself terrorism charges and detention in a hellhole for three to six months until the courts got me free.

This is the type video for how to deal with these jabronis.

More concerned about the mask then about the arrest.

I don’t want to believe what Iβ€˜m seeing; this is exactly the national shame we grew up with as german descendants from Nazi-Deutschland. How on earth can fellow Americans treat each other (or any other human) like this in 2025. Nothing learned from history, nothing at all.So very sad and upsetting.

Their boss's boss's boss's boss is looking for excuses to escalate, send in the troops, and declare martial law before democracy settles over them in 2026 and they lose the ability to make the US into an autocracy for good.

Kicking ass in this setting would make a great such excuse.

The citizen supporters here were exceptionally disciplined in their nonviolence. I kept thinking "I might have ended up getting manhandled myself if I were in that mess."

Have we seen any demographic data on them? Anyone check out their message boards or wherever they talk strategy and tactics? Any insider interviews with dejected ICE agents who hated the job and talked to the press yet?

That's what I was thinking after I watched it the third time. These guys are at risk in this situation, and they know it, and they bailed after they realized that they were too exposed here.

With even one more guy they'd probably have walked away with the victim here. πŸ™ƒ

06.10.2025 07:37 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, these guys would have been ripped apart if any of the concerned people in that shot were not absolutely committed to non-violent protest.

A few times even a pair of wire cutters to snip the zip-tie would have lengthened this attempted abduction.

06.10.2025 07:35 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

That makes sense. Privatize the abduction function, the incarceration function, then eventually the judicial and policing functions.

How to run a country like a business. Yarvinism in action.
