After 4 days on strike (and probably at least one more), can I just say? I love educators. Sometimes I joke that I "don't do this on purpose," but I am damn glad I do this—and damn proud to be in community with these strong, caring, brilliant people.

The turnout for the UESF teacher strike rallies has been MASSIVE. 20,000 yesterday! I have a lot of hope that we're going to win this and we're going to keep the district SCARED.

There was a push for having sites have core subs who would stay in one place, but that got scrapped for some reason.

I do actually like the mobility, for what it's worth. It's nice to have regular places, but it's nice to have variety, too.

I think it's mostly natural—after all, I'll sometimes be at 4 or 5 different schools a week—but there's certainly a widespread culture of subs being in and out and not necessarily your colleagues.

I think I'm up to like 7 or 8 teachers at this school I know by name and have had conversations with??? Imagine having colleagues, couldn't be me

If the district thinks they're going to outlast UESF on any level, they're so wildly wrong, because the general consensus among educators on the picket line is "oh my god I can't believe I've actually had full conversations with adults every day this week, this is so much FUN"
