I’m a little obsessed with this cookbook. Got the first one well over a decade ago and now that I found it’s out of print I love getting used copies on #abesbooks. Will admit I don’t use the recipes often since I’m the only one that would eat authentic dishes like this, but love it.

Omg. After this @bradlisti.bsky.social podcast episode that reminded me of the Mycelial Network, I listened to the @writingexcuses.bsky.social podcast and was introduced to #allthebirdsinthesky. I’ve been listening to the audiobook and I just got to the ending where this is referenced.

Me earlier “Charlie Kirk, who???” Yes, I’m clueless apparently. “Wait, this was at UVTC???” Yes, I also hold on to certain memories. At least when I lived my teen years in the area, this was nicknamed “happy valley” I think due to the wholesome Mormon values.

I’ll admit I’ve only read the first story so far, which is Christa’s. James Whale is the gay icon, but a minor figure. The story is very relevant for today. Also reminds me of her excellent novel Control Freak.

Can’t wait to dig into the wither stories in this anthology.

Thank you for making me remember the Mycelial Network and witchcraft. Sometime in the past 10 years learned of trees connectedness through roots in a radio lab episode. Long before that, tried getting into ritual but had a hard time both getting it and building relationships and gave it up.

Preordered the ebook a while back, can’t wait for the release. Another book treat for myself.

Haha. TBH I don’t quite get why they needed to change and why the new logo was “woke”.

Not sure why I didn’t repost this sooner, but I got the audiobook right after listening to this episode and am almost finished with it. Excellent and relatable, particularly when dealing with anxiety and how thoughts come into play.

Yep. I come from a position, more so the older I get, that I’m not usually getting the meaning that’s intended. I may identify with it and interpret my own meaning or understanding based on where I am at, but doesn’t mean I GET what the creator is really saying. Just saying . . .

Umm, know who you are submitting to?! And maybe use AI to give suggestions and help with grammar? (I use copilot for meeting notes at work because I can’t engage and take notes, but we are literally told in effect to REVIEW FOR ACCURACY. As in, you still have to edit. Same with transcripts.)

Not quite done—-taken years to realize different aspects of myself even though I knew since I was young I exhibited a false face. I’m learning to face them every day and time to make hard and strong decisions.
