Well, I do now. Also, surprisingly often, as my children can attest to. Nearly as often as the theme to The Beachcombers.

I have both a knitting pattern and an article out in the latest issue of PLY Magazine! This Issue is all about Hue, and I share tips on pulling together a colourwork palette. The magazine is available here: plymagazine.com

Was struggling to come up with a diffΓ©rance joke, but will have to defer.
03.03.2025 22:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0From a disability perspective, a great deal of the putative benefits of AI for neurodivergent folks (which doesn't just include autistic folks or those with ADHD btw) could be better provided by PEOPLE. And I'd much rather the capacity and funding go to people.

31.01.2025 16:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I find it frustrating that so many seem to think that testers are the only option. Also frustrating how many feel that "but I like test knitting" is an argument against more ethical and sustainable practices.
31.01.2025 16:49 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I may grow to love it one day; after all, it makes for absolutely gorgeous projects!
30.01.2025 16:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Can confirm having taken your course! It's still not my cup of tea to knit brioche, (though I very much admire brioche projects), but I am so glad I get it now, and can do it if I talk myself into it.
30.01.2025 16:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0OK all things considered (plenty of anxiety what with the everything), but I did get a new book in the mail yesterday, so that's nice.
30.01.2025 15:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well-written post; it's a big part of why I stopped self-publishing. I highly value Tech Editors as a crucial part of any publishing I've done. I couldn't justify using free tester labour, so my work outside of magazines just didn't get seen. I've found other work, and a bit still with magazines.
23.01.2025 01:36 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have finally officially resigned from the University - wild horses could't drag me back.
It's pretty scary but I am now a full-time free-lancer! You should hire me for workshops and such.

Two samples of yarn hand spun from Wensleydale wool. The smaller one is fuzzier, less consistent, and less shiny.
Decided to ply the Wensleydale once I had combed a decent amount, then to experiment with flick carding a bit more. I'm going back to combing for the remainder of the batch, but found that it is worth flicking the cut ends prior to combing these locks in order to reduce some difficult tangles.

13.01.2025 03:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We watched it with our kids when they were a little older than when we had first watched it (I remember watching it in class in grade 3), and we were especially shocked about the reason she hated Christmas as we had also forgotten. It gets dropped in there so suddenly and starkly too.

This weekend I'm hoping to spend some time combing and spinning some Wensleydale wool. I've been trying to decide if I want to comb all of it, or if I want to spin two samples; one combed, one flicked.
