I get that. Many people have stopped listening but I think that could be self defeating. There are still so many great progs on R4, many surprises. I have searched but found nothing to compare to Today to cover so much of the current news, though I also sometimes shout at it, especially Justin Webb!

Interesting. Do you find Nick and Amol to centrist, too much aligned with the status quo?

Not all of us Alex. I imagine some people do what they can but don't want to publicise it. You have highlighted the slaughter throughout. Well done πŸ’š

Hi Steve, having had problems with walking boots over the years I suggest trying out in store where they have ramps to simulate hill use. Also, feet swell with heat, so make sure there is plenty of toe room. Some brands fit narrow, others better for wider feet.

Yes. Locally we have a Future Forests Company site, rolling, rocky natural grazed pature land. They have planted lots of native trees, close together, git rid of some nice scrub, left others. I had some positive interaction but as soon as I criticised and offered improvements they cut off al contact

Nice one πŸ‘. I was at Tophill Low, Yorkshire today when a Needle tailed swift was seen. But I was in the wooded car park and the bird was 500m away over the reservoir, and by the time I got there it had gone. I scanned and scanned, gutted 😬

They state that they will make them available online, but it also make a fantastic booklet, more available to everyone.
Similarly the Woodland Trust have a fantastic indespensible 'Woodland Creation Guide' only online

There's only one Taylor Swift, whereas 65 million US households own a dog.

A dog fed on wet food emits ~ 6.5 Tonnes CO2e/year, while one only fed dry food comes in at 0.83 Tonnes/yr.

So US pet dogs emit between 54M & 423M Tonnes of C02e/ yr.

Globally, private jets emitted 15.6MTCO2e in 2023.

Exactly πŸ‘. The right wing on general is not an opposite mirror of the left. The left is idealistic, .morality based, wanting a better world for all. The right is for power and wealth to be kept at the top, enfeebling the rest of us.We are tolerant, they are not. There are graduations between, but

Great to have them on your house Ian. Nearby in Kirkcudbright I had evening flocks of 50 house martins, 50 swallows and 60 swifts 3 nights ago. Still 50 swifts, some still in nests around. 44 nests this year in town. Apparently most south England swifts have left now
