Sadly, Pastor Bordow passed away in 2023. It sounds like he was doing good work to move the OPC in the right direction. He advocated for divorce in cases of abuse, which the denomination currently does not officially condone

TL;DR, the current CR doesn't have any risks to gender-affirming care. But the upcoming spending fight will and it's important to differentiate between the two, especially when it's information for a vulnerable population. Our job should be to seek truth and report it and minimize harm.

Not denying the frustration, but I've noticed that some of his centrist rhetoric is performative: he uses phrases like "both sides" as proverbial sugar for the medicine of "xtian nationalism bad, anti-racism good," etc. Very rarely does he punch left, his focus is on xtian authoritarian extremists.

ICE agents were hanging out at local schools to grab parents when they came to pickup their kids. Within an hour our community organized to meet the at-risk kids and get them home safely. We can secure the border and manage immigration without being cruel.

listen, I was homeschooled by religious fundamentalists, so when I sat down to watch my VeggieTales tapes and got to the part when Bob and Larry told us that "God made us special and loves us very much", my tiny child mind understood (without being told) that it was liberalism run amok 😭
