how many good season has diaz had with the mets?

it opens a spot for benge. not sure where everyone is getting this belli / tucker thing. the mets need pitching & this move makes it more likely for a pete reunion. everyone upset over this trade tell me which player you would rather have pete or nimmo?

if semien sucks the mets will make him a bench piece and eventually dfa. if nimmo kept declining they couldnt do that. thats how im looking at this.

DS likes plus plus in CF - benge isnt plus plus. maybe ewing in a year? i think williams will be moved for pitching - lets hope so anyway - perhaps they waited too long.

im not. DS stressed 2 things in his presser - run prevention and playing young players. now there is a spot for benge and in theory 2B defense has been upgraded. short term pain for long term flexibility.

bcs nimmo is not going to stick in the OF for 5 years and it will be awful to DFA him. semien can play 2B and if he sucks bye bye. also benge now has a clear path to make the team.

My initial take on the trade is that this in a vacuum makes Texas probably better and definitely cheaper for 2026 but is worse for their future, and it gets the Mets’ most inelegant roster/position fit off the roster while improving the defense dramatically and freeing up an OF spot for someone(s)

well DS was the architect of the brewers who were very good this year and are continually competitive. i’d like to really give him a shot to turn over this roster.

well it opens a spot for benge and tbh i think it makes pete coming back more likely. personally im psyched DS is turning this roster over. if semien sucks they can DFA him. i need more brewers from DS and less big market overpays.

wth? you hate the guy that checks notes - hustles to 1B on walk? wow. hate the mets all you want (i always say that mets fans hate the mets more than anyone ever could, alas), but nimmo is a pro’s pro and gives his all.

upgrades defense in theory at 2B, makes room for benge in LF, DS needs to find a plus plus CF.

it is bleh bcs tney are both cooked. there is no way nimmo is sticking the OF for 5 more years. the contract is absolute trash that’s why it got dumped, he was supposed to play CF for more than 1 year! you know DS loves defense and in theory he got a GG 2B and made room for benge in LF.

well we know that DS is going to make room for the mets top prospect outside of mclean - carson benge. im over the moon bcs i thought there was no way nimmo was going to play LF this year, he would have to DH on a team with a few DHs already.

the prospect writers def see benge as more of a corner than CF so im sure DS does. you know he wants a plus plus guy in CF.
