yeah but it is possible lindor isnt ready this year, thats why i brought it up. it is going to be interesting to see what happens in camp.

so i guess paul skenes can never qualify?

17.02.2026 01:01 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

interesting thought. they prob should have tried harder to move lindor this offseason.

you are forgetting baty and who backs up SS?

17.02.2026 00:31 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

well ppl throw the term around, i dont use it to mean the best pitcher on a team - mlb’s definition - bcs that just makes 30 aces and doesnt give you a baseline. is zack wheeler still an ace? i would say no bcs he hasnt been healthy, idk if he is even the best pitcher on the team anymore?

16.02.2026 03:18 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

there has to be a dividing line - a track record or else you end up with alec manoah is an ace bcs he had 1 good season. ppl were calling manaea & senga an ace too after 1 good season - were those seasons the same as doc in 85?

16.02.2026 03:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

i would say no bcs you cant be an ace after 1 good year, you need a track record of innings, health, and dominance.

16.02.2026 03:12 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

yup same!

no sorry bout that, but there is always good conversation!

what are you counting on vientos to be?

14.02.2026 19:56 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

i hope you are right Jason! LRjr is such a wildcard i think everyone is banking on him being good when it is more likely he plays in half the games.

14.02.2026 19:42 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

amazin avenue!

agree on pitching, but there is no depth for position players and all the guys that were brought in have huge injury risks. if 2 go down at one time it probably tanks the season.

14.02.2026 19:22 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

no peralta is at best a 2 - he’s a 3 on a good team. mcclean is a rookie and has 8 starts pls stop calling him an ace - he has no track record of dominance. manaea is likely a bp piece. homes & peterson are prob 4/5s. senga could be decent or unplayable.

14.02.2026 19:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

curious to who is freaking out just friends or writers?

14.02.2026 19:12 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

this team will be lucky to get to 85 wins. i think pecota has them at 88 so i’ll go with 78.

14.02.2026 19:07 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

i dont get how you think this team could be #2, not enough was done to fix the pitching and all of the position players that were brought in have huge injury risks.

14.02.2026 19:04 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

not sure why you are bringing up canning, who is recovering from torn achillies. the league caught up to him last year right before the injury. the mets dont have starting innings to give him as of right now anyway.

14.02.2026 18:59 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

no? the pitching looked bad last season. the depth looks better this year only bcs ncclean and tong have more experience. but, we have peralta (#2 or #3 on a good team), a rookie, and a bunch of #5s. senga could be unplayable or have a good stretch

14.02.2026 18:57 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

some people use HoF as a standard for calling a pitcher an ace but im not that strict abt it.

14.02.2026 15:24 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

i disagree. one good year does not make anyone an ace, not paul skenes, not matt harvey, not doc. im fine with calling doc an ace but not in his rookie season. he had a run of dominance from 84-86 and then got hurt. people said alec manoah was an ace and he cant get a job in mlb.

14.02.2026 15:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

thats exactly my point πŸ˜€

14.02.2026 08:53 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

uhhhh kershaw was an ace. matt harvey had one dominant season. what are you talking about?

14.02.2026 08:43 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

scherzer has 8 top 5 cy young finishes and 3 wins. verlander has 9 top 5 cy young finishes and 3 wins. kershaw 9 top 5 and 3 wins.

14.02.2026 08:40 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

one top 5 cy young apperance is not an ace.

14.02.2026 08:28 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

i just fundamentally disagree. you cant be an ace without a run of sustained health, innings, and dominance. thats why there are so very few true aces in the game at one time. since rookie has SSS they cant be an ace.

14.02.2026 08:26 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

yes,

if the mets get skubal the rotation looks much better

14.02.2026 02:29 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

again, you cant be an ace after 1 year. you need a track record of sustained health, innings, ans dominance. get back to me when he is a top 5 pitcher in the sport for multiple years, then you can call him an ace.

14.02.2026 02:11 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

thats why melendez is in camp. also jared young can play a corner OF spot too.

14.02.2026 01:16 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

are you seriously saying this?
