My kids got a bird feeder with a camera. The birdseed ran out and a pair of dove made it their home. 2 chicks were hatched and left and we are now on our second pair of dove using it as a nest.

I've been doing a lot of vibe scripting with ChatGPT and PowerShell for home projects and it reminds me of when I first got exposed to PS by an old greybeard. Being able to say "ok but what does that function do?" is so nice and I can just pitch use cases and it throws script ideas at me.

I bought a ChatGPT sub for a project and installed the Chrome extension without really looking at it. All it does is replace the address bar search function with a "chatGPT search". I copy/pasted some celeb's name from the 90s to see what they looked like now and got a whole bio on them instead.

Highly encourage everyone to see what Nazi party supporters looked like in the late 30's. It's an extremely uncomfortable watch, especially living deep in "I don't care what the constitution says, he deserves a 3rd term" country.

The Epstein stuff is way funnier. The right believes it's a conspiracy but somehow forget that "the government" at the time was controlled by their guy.

I once caught a screw up like this from the FBI. The .onion ransomware link was at the end of a sentence so it was .onion. When you try and resolve that link in a TOR browser, it wouldn't work but if you copy/paste and remove the . it loaded a chat window.

One year I was at a work event at a PGA resort. They were hosting a high school girls tournament that week and it was just girl dad caddies for miles.

From a purely economic perspective I wonder what level of vigilante violence would be required before corporate behavior was changed. The Israeli program to target Iranian nuclear scientists comes to mind because it absolutely changed policy with street level violence. Also, don't murder people.

What about all the crazy adult documentaries I used to have to sneak around and watch? Real Sex, Taxi Cab Confessions, shit would probably look tame today.

And the most frustrating part is that every airport acts like their rules are universal across the country. As I'm taking my laptop out they are like "SIR, SIR, you don't need to do that" like I haven't flown in a decade. Meanwhile I got yelled at the week prior for not taking it out.

Interesting. I'm down in Texas and grow the Arapaho variety. They shoot out runners like bamboo and will take over a space if you let them. I always love potting the runners and giving them to friends.

Do you grow them or are they wild? I grow thronless blackberries but we have a native species here I've always wanted to make wine out of. They are smaller, much more tart and of course the bushes are full of thorns but I just love the idea of foraging for berries.

This genera goes deeeeep. There is one side of it that I'd describe as "Bro slumlords" and they are very flamboyant about getting rich off poor people and selling you a course on how to do it too.

Never forget the LastPass hack that happened because a dude didn't update his personal Plex server.

It's concerning that he is replacing leadership while actively valuing "killers" over thinkers.

The single best videos on social media are when people from that "white people" camp get drunk, do something dumb and then find the police treating them like someone from the "criminal" camp. They are AMAZED when the cops pull out the taser, that can't POSSIBLY be for me, I'm a good guy!

The need will still exist, they'll just be subbing it out to Booz or some other massive contractor 90% of the American public has never heard of.
