Some things don't change

A copy of the PS2 game .hack//Quarantine, which cost a ton of money but not as much as it often costs

I FINALLY FOUND MY WHITE WHALE IN THE WILD AHHHH time to delete my eBay alert xD (and yes I did willingly drop that much money on a 20 year old PS2 game)

I pretty much leapt for joy when my company's legal compliance guy said that ai was starting to be treated as a red flag by clients because of all the data security issues surrounding it. Generative AI is not your friend, it is not a search engine, it's not a therapist, it's just a word regurgitator

Found out my dad has been using (and paying for) Chatty to use as therapy and I had to hurl so many videos at him about how people have literally been driven to psychosis by the app, convincing them that they're in on some groundbreaking conspiracy or that their spouses have been bodysnatched

Every time my coworker calls ChatGPT "Chatty" and discusses it like it's just another member of the team ("I was talking to Chatty about this and..."), I want to hurl my computer out the window and dedicate my life to fiber arts cuz ughgghhhhh

it's cool how we have a government that 4chans constantly on twitter and shows off videos of the president shitting on americans while also being like, "make sure nobody sees us destroying the white house"

this is super normal stuff for highly stable nations
