Cover of UK paperback edition of β€˜Visitation’ by Jenny Erpenbeck.

Loved it too - like all her books. And this one, Jenny Erpenbeck’s β€˜Visitation’ is similarly fine: limited in geography to one house in Eastern Germany, but tracing twentieth-century middle-European history through the house’s various occupants. A great read!

Right now, I don’t know of any drama on any platform that is better plotted than β€˜The Archers.’ If you know, you know.

Characteristically self-effacing; but Heaney is no foothill. A towering peak.
