So @timescolonist.bsky.social proved today that the extent of their research is ChatGPT. I’d send them a response trying to explain all the things wrong with this piece, but I don’t think it would seep through all the lead in the editorial board’s boomer hivemind.

it is insane that there isn’t just a twisted metal show, but that it’s successful, and somehow sony isn’t trying to capitalize on it with a new game. i know they tried a couple decades ago but come on. there’s never been a better time for a multiplayer-focused car brawler.

Canada seems to be barreling towards an intensely anti-labour future. Hopeful that unions will push back in legal and, if necessary, illegal ways. No one can actually be forced back to work. Commerce does not matter more than fair wages and conditions.

my current conspiracy theory is that conservatives are pushing the “privatize Canada Post” narrative so hard because it’s a stepping stone to privatizing other essential services (healthcare) more palatable. Age-old “Why should I pay for services I don’t use?” angle.

July was a strict diet of 90s. Nothing else. They also had to be first watched or rewatches from so long ago I hardly remembered the film.

And below it is an "AI" slop that reads in white on green "XBOX GRAPHICS IS HIRING" and an image of a woman in a green sweater wearing earpods typing on a computer, except the "AI" has put the screen on the back of the monitor.

The fucking head of fucking XBox Graphics used a fucking "AI" slop image to hire new engineers but couldn't tell that the fucking screen on the fucking monitor is facing backwards.

i caught an episode of the twilight zone on tv where weird things are happening to a lady in a bus depot, and the disgruntled clerk tells her to go sit down and breathe through her nose -- and i'm still losing it over such a perfect little piece of dialogue
