Huh, I've been wondering lately why my rural corner of Vermont is so unlike other rural places I've lived. Still plenty of conservatives but it's not a monolith. Maybe because state laws and zoning basically outlaw box stores.

I picked Roxbury Russets this year for the first time, at Cobble Knoll Orchard in Vermont, where they have so many rare apples! I enjoyed it a lot and made some great fresh cider with it.

donating food to your local pantry is GREAT and helpful, but money is best imo because we work with vendors/places who are able to give us bulk food and better prices than the average grocery store. if you're debating between giving a pantry canned goods or $20? definitely $20
