Oh that makes sense! I'm on my first draft though... I have a lot of trouble writing in stream of consciousness. I did /try/ that approach on an earlier draft (a 0.5th draft?) but it ended up being MASSIVELY underwritten.

Finally making some considerable progress on my WIP again! Yay!

Though I'm also realizing the pace at which I write is super slow... I have no idea how people can crank out, like, 1500 words an hour or something... I'm barely at a third of that...

Dec 15 - Blanket

I used "blanketed" instead.

On the quieter outskirts of the Great Crossing, Muffins the Cat and Kas the Crow, plus a new friend Stewpot (another cat) find their destination: an old, rundown apothecary.

Taking Muffins the Cat and Kas the Crow collectively, they're very skilled at city navigation. They navigate the maze of alleyways and catwalks in the Great Crossing regularly.

Probably couldn't use a compass though, haha.

Muffins and Kas turned towards the sound. A scraggly black cat emerged from the shadows between the pipes. His whiskers were kinked, bent, and pointing in all sorts of directions. His fur was the same, as if he were brushed by the gentle caress of a boar run rampant. It was their friend, named… Stewpot. None of them quite knew why he got that name.

Ah yes, it's the little moments like these that remind me why I love writing. Just a small bit I wrote that made me smile. <3

I haven't written an /ensemble/ protagonist myself, though a couple of my WIPs feature dual protagonists. I love exploring the relationship between them--the push and pull between their personalities, so to speak.

Hi Jane! I'm somewhat new-ish. I started taking my writing more seriously starting in 2021. That said, I still haven't gotten anything officially published or anything.

I can't pinpoint it exactly, but I'd say my world of Entarra is somewhere around the Industrial Revolution. Though, instead of coal, the primary energy source is Mysterium: a magical liquid that allows even a layman to use magic!
