"icefrog: the epic comic" a 10 frame mspaint comic about the wc3 mod turned standalone game dota 2's gameplay changes in patches the comic shows an anthropomorphized version of IceFrog, the developer, and a stick figure, with a table between them. the table has a plate on it, and the plate has a pile of poop on it. the stick figure looks at the poop and thanks the frog for "the new version" (of dota). it eats the poop, then aggressively complains and berates the frog. the frog stands unmoving and unchanged between all frames. the stick figure insists it will never play "this version" (the poop) again with a scowl. then it turns around and starts eating the poop again.

overall feels pretty "icefrog the epic comic" but about streaming service to me

funny enough, this is part of the fantasy IRL too. they want to enforce an elevation of their taste on people they feel disrespect it. but a game that's otherwise a narrative/literary/cinematic masterpiece is still a game. people who don't take video games seriously simply will not!

imo i wouldn't even say they dont want violence, but it's complicated. they want violence like in benjamin's "critique of violence"

they don't want nonviolent, they want noncombat, they want to navigate another world where they can enact their will to dominate socially/romantically
