I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.
Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. Itβs not intellectually superior. Itβs the virus theyβre trying to infect us with. NO
Behind the scenes, the company was also quietly dismantling a system to prevent the spread of misinformation. When the company announced on Jan. 7 that it would end its fact-checking partnerships, the company also instructed teams responsible for ranking content in the companyβs apps to stop penalizing misinformation, according to sources and an internal document obtained by Platformer. Rules around it have loosened greatly in Canada, and as a result, there is a gambling related suicide in Canada on average every 9 days.
Horrifying.
I got through half of it in high school before a waterline broke and destroyed it in my locker, I was secretly relieved that this was a good reason to give up π«£

before i close up today: huge thanks to everyone who supported us this year!
choosing us to buy books is obviously great but so are things that don't cost anything like sharing posts, telling friends about us, or writing google reviews. we see it all and it's so appreciated

This creates unnecessary fear & makes victims of nonconsensual image distribution less likely to seek support. Our digital safety research team created this infographic to help clear some things up!
