So why label the concern as "Green Party nonsense"? Hardly a nuanced contribution from you to the debate is it?

Maybe if he dislikes migration so much he should move back to the UK from the tax haven of Monaco.

An added benefit of that would be him paying taxes here as well.

Is it too much to ask that people practice what they preach?

1. This short thread is about the issue that dominates almost every aspect of politics, and causes or exacerbates most of our problems: the extreme wealth of a small number of people. Here’s the amazing thing: almost the entire political class aligns with the ultra-rich against the rest. 🧡1/10

A good proportion in the US seems enthralled by the MAGA cult, regardless of what it does to them. Quite scary when viewed from outside the US, believe me.

Not commenting on Venezuela is one thing, but Starmer's ministers not even being willing to say "no of course the US shouldn't invade a peaceful sovereign democratic NATO country, which is one of our closest allies" is quite another.

75% of Reform UK’s donations have come from just three rich men Calls grow for donation caps as Democracy for Sale research reveals that three-quarters of Reform’s funding comes from a trio of wealthy donors

πŸ”΄ Nigel Farage’s Reform is more reliant on super-rich backers than any major party in modern British political history

75% of *all* Reform donations *ever* have come from just three rich men

Zack Polanski, "Labour are a government of cowards because you won't tell people the truth about migration"

"Migration is a positive thing for our country"

"We need migration"

"We need fair and managed migration"

"And that's what will change this conversation"

I can charge at home yes. Majority of homes - in whole of UK, not just Yorkshire - are not suitable for charger installations.

If I were only able to charge at my destination I would not own an EV.

04.12.2025 21:58 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I live in a Yorkshire town with a population around 60k. We have (depending on where you draw the boundary) 5 stations with a total of 20 chargers. That is not sufficient, let alone "plenty".

04.12.2025 14:13 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Amen to that.

04.12.2025 13:04 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

We've only had an EV a few months and I've been amazed how much variance there is in pricing. Need plenty of not-for-profit and/or council-run charging facilities.

04.12.2025 12:23 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

There are still not enough. And they need to be near where people live for those who can't charge at home.

I’ll never forget the horror of the Covid wards | The Observer

Powerful piece by @drrachelclarke.com on the COVID inquiry. Those who say it’s easy to be wise in hindsight are being utterly disingenuous. Many of us spoke out at the time, and it’s in the public record.

Severe flooding like we've seen across Monmouthshire will only become more frequent as climate breakdown progresses - building resilience could not be more important.

By investing in #RiverFriendlyFarming, govt can help farmers manage floodwater and prevent disastrous outcomes.

Look under the green hood and you will find a raft of policies that have been developed over many years by the members. We now have a leader who is effective at communicating those policies. To suggest that there is a parallel with Farage/Reform is frankly laughable.

I am a pedant of a certain age that gets mildly annoyed by media outlets getting football clubs' names wrong. Headline says Harrogate FC, which does not exist.
