If I were @schumer.senate.gov, I would not agree to help Republicans fund this regime on the "promise" of an ACA vote at a later date. It didn't work the last time when they promised to fund DC. It won't work this time either. The House won't touch it.

Senate Dems, do not cave. Ensuring healthcare premiums don’t surge is an 80-20 issue. They want to gut the ACA because their disdain for Obama far outweighs their concern for anyone’s health.

The Constitution disagrees. The Emoluments Clause, part of Article I, Section 9, Clause 8, bans office holders from taking ANY gifts from foreign countries. There is no mention of quid pro quo. That is because the Founding Fathers knew that even the *appearance* of corruption promotes corruption.

This is still part of the Constitution, FYI: "[N]o Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust... shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

We are not under invasion.

There is no justification for suspending our constitutional rights.
