Fact. Just sayin:-
In 2003, while adviser to a NSW Min., Chris Minns attended the Aust. Israel Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC) inaugural Rambam trip to Israel. Also att. alongside Minns were former PM Scott Morrison, Bill Shorten and Fed Opp. leader Simon Crean's foreign policy adviser Carl Ungerer.

Political recidivism. Women and younger voters abandoned the party in droves at last year’s election. Tearing down their first female leader after less than a year, is their considered response? And for what detailed program? Vague boilerplate rhetoric? Fact is, the boys want their party back.

"Although covid is transmitted through the respiratory system, much of the pathology unfolds in the vascular system, with microvascular damage, thromboinflammation, and dysregulated perfusion underpinning the cardiac, pulmonary, and neurological manifestations of severe disease."

At the risk of stating the obvs, the purpose of the visit is to β€œreset the relationship” aka wash away any concerns about past events like the murder of Zomi Frankcom. If the Australian govt had any interest in justice or Zomi’s memory this visit wouldn’t be happening.

"social cohesion" is the "climate wars are over" of the late 2020s.

Labor doesn't want peace, or cohesion or actual societal improvement. It wants everyone to stop yelling at them.

It worked for the climate movement but it won't work for the anti-genocide movement.

Hey @albomp.bsky.social, I guess once you’re elected, you can just forget about the things you used to say.

Saw an article where some anonymous Liberal was describing removing Ley as a 'great act of misogyny' or similar. Would have to ask them how low the Liberal primary vote would need to be for them to not say that at this time.

Reframing "AI for Good" Abeba Birhane β€œAI for Good” is an oxymoron when models are built through surveillance, exploitation, and hubris.

There has been some crap attempts by centrists trying to paint Zionism as just believing Israel should exist & favour a 2 state solution.

Bullshit. Either support genocide or criticise the Zionists who do. Don’t give me your bullshit β€œoh Netanyahu is bad but let’s not be mean about Zionists” crud.

Major parties vote down LGBTIQ amendments

Attempts from David Pocock, Jacqui Lambie, Tammy Tyrrell and Fatima Payman to have the laws at least extend protections to marginalised groups, including the LGTBIQ communities have been voted down by Labor and the Liberals.

This was their amendment:

(1) Schedule 1, item 10, page 8 (line 12), omit β€œdistinguished by race, or national or ethnic origin”, substitute β€œdistinguished by race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, intersex status, disability, nationality, or national or ethnic origin, or because of the target person or target group’s personal association (whether as a relative or otherwise) with a person who is distinguished by any of those attributes”.

Good to have a final reminder that these laws are only about preventing people criticism Israel for committing genocide and have nothing really to do with hate (other than ensuring Zionists can continue to practice it)

Never, ever, doubt the stupidity and self-interest which dominates conservative politics in this country.

And sadly it has now spread unchecked into the ALP.

Australia be better. We are increasingly getting the politicians we deserve...

Is the strategy of this crackdown meant to frighten off 'mums and dads' (aka law-abiding people) who want to protest at what they see is wrong? The Harbor Bridge protest made clear the public's anger at what's happening in GAZA and The West Bank. Are we being told to back off? Just wondering....
