I “borrowed” this LP (Murray The K’s 1962 Boss Golden Gassers) from my dad’s collection long ago when I was in college and am revisiting it tonight. Amazing snapshot of early 60s pop and R&B from the year of my birth (yes I am old).

Hi, if I was born two days before my actual birthday, one or more of my names would have been “John“ or “Glenn”, in honor of the first US astronaut to orbit the earth that day In 1962. As I was actually born on George Washington’s Birthday, I am forever known as Raymond George Gonzalez.

He was eager to get out of the house so he wouldn’t have to feed or take the kids to school so he was in the office at 9. Lunchtime at 12 noon and back to the office by 3-ish.

Doobies hadn’t had a top 20 hit since 1976. They had no single releases during the rest of ‘78, but their first single of ‘79 (which was their first release since the WH!! Episode) went all the way to #1 (What A Fool Believes).

Back of old Chronic Town cover shows “Loaned For Promotion Only” “Not For Sale” as this was a copy sent to college radio station which the poster has kept for 40 plus years

Since I didn’t pay for my original copies, happy to fork over the $$ for the new one-step pressings. Can’t wait to compare!

Loved the doc and have the same warm nostalgic feelings about the event. My only gripe is there is not one mention of cocaine in the doc. I mean it was 1985 for gosh sakes, and many of the participants were working around the clock to make this happen!

It looks like the photo was taken today (Saturday) of food that’s just been sitting out untouched since Thanksgiving day.

First TNF game I’ve seen in awhile. Al Michaels is still very good at what he does. Kirk Herbstreit is not at Al’s level and reminds me of an analyst on the No.5 team at Fox doing Saints v. Panthers for 8% of the country.
