They will be perfectly consistent and unapologetic about using DOGE to scrutinize, cut, or eliminate any programs that do not benefit them personally, and conveniently ignore any that do.

It's not inconsistent at all. They will unapologetically fight to keep the debt ceiling when democrats are in power and eliminate or ignore it when tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires are on the agenda. This is perfectly consistent when any means imaginable justify the ends.
