And that’s what this is REALLY all about, isn’t it? A human isn’t “smart” (read: has value) until they’ve hit a certain point. And they want something always smart

This is a fascinating insight into his empathy and benevolence. Which is to say, he has not a shred of either.

Understand that what Altman is saying here is not a lack of intelligence; he knows that AI is not capable of sentience. His statement is born out of pure cold-hearted malice for people

I actually don't have much issue with Nintendo re-releasing the Pokemon games as standalone like this. $20 isn't an unreasonable ask when they have full trading support + Pokemon Home.

I just think it's utterly absurd to sell each language separately.

Like this is ridiculous. There's no reason you can't just have this be a single purchase and let the user select the language on first startup + advise users of how it originally played + load the appropriate ROM.

I get that they want to print money by not having them on NSO, but is Nintendo so greedy that they couldn't just bundle all the languages as one purchase and let you select upon starting?

Playing the demo to Pragmata and for all intents and purposes it really is just Mega Man X in 3D with a hacking minigame on top to slow it way down. It wouldn't take much to adjust the gameplay of this to be Mega Man, really.
