Like the kid who plays the PSP - He notes how easy it is to just insert a game and play it, and how addicting it is. That's not merely nostalgia speaking; that's the actual technology itself being cool in the same way pulling out a Gameboy for Millennials and playing a game on it was.

Gen Z discovering the same thing Millennials did. It's more than just nostalgia. Retro tech is cool, and newer isn't always better. While some of the technology is legitimately outdated and useless, a lot of is actually genuinely useful and timeless in ways modern tech can't reproduce.

I can't wait to see Demons' Crest animated. I'm re-reading Volume 1 right now, and I think this is really gong to take off when people realize that it's basically Sword Art Online's Aincrad arc, but dark fantasy/horror themed. The monster designs are like straight out of Berserk or Dark Souls too.

The concept of "user error" is apparently unknown to folks at ResetEra. As is the concept of how you can design your user experience (UX) to specifically avoid it. :\

I would love to just sit down with Yoshida and his team and tell him that I WANT to keep playing. But this game is no longer safe for me to do so. The entire game needs an extensive pass from trained in accessibility with regards to photosensitivity before it'd ever be fully playable for me again.

This is genuinely a serious problem with #FFXIV as a whole and is a big reason why a game I used to love so much I can no longer play. These flashing mechanics are everywhere, and there's nothing you can do about them save a handful of third party mods. Mods that compromise gameplay in other ways.

Trying to learn the Patch 7.2 dungeon in #FFXIV, only to discover that there's a mechanic on the second boss that is either migraine/seizure inducing OR it is blocked by one of the mods I have.

Which explains why I couldn't learn the fight earlier in a premade group. I couldn't see the mechanic.

The actual game seems like it's fine itself, and I feel like Nintendo and Retro Studios could fix any flaws they wanted. But you can definitely tell there's a few flaws here and it's reflected in the review scores and user impressions. Makes me a bit hesitant to pick it up immediately.

Looking up footage of Metroid Prime 4's desert gameplay and... yeah I can see why people are a little upset about the Amiibo functionally?

It's not silent, but it's clear ambience and not in a well thought out way or anything.

Prime 4 sounds like it's a bit rough around the edges.
