Since returning to the United Kingdom, I have also delivered a paper entitled " #Scandianvians in #SouthWales: #Migration, #Culture, and #Religion from 1866 to 1925" at a conference. I have started drafting an article based on my manuscript for this talk.

I am halfway through making the PowerPoint presentations for the lectures I am giving in the research module MGUSA401! Although the versions of the course I am delivering in Sogndal and Stord differ, I am quite excited about both.

I really enjoyed the training seminar on "Cultural heritage and digital citizenship education," which Europeana and the ENA Education Community Steering Group organised this morning as part of All Digital Weeks!

I have an article looking at identity in Aracdia in the Archaic period coming out :)

Looking a genelogies, myth and politics :)

As part of the project, we are working to publish one article per work package. The article "The Norwegian Seamen's Mission in Glamorgan" from the first work package was published in the journal #Morgannwg.

I will also present a paper at this workshop focusing on modern history, looking at #Scandinavians in Wales from 1866 to 1925. I will write it up and try to publish it as the WP2 article from the current #heritageproject at the Norwegian Church Art Centre in Cardiff Bay.

Happy to say that in April, I am organising a #workshop focused on #religious and #culturalheritage in #Wales alongside @cardiffuniversity.bsky.social and Llafur - the event is now live on the #NorwegianChurchArtsCentre's website 🙂

Friday: "Uses of Antiquity in the #Renaissance and the #Enlightenment".

It will be a busy but exciting week, covering several exciting themes in social studies and history :)

Wednesday: First, I will give a text seminar for master's students in #SocialStudies and then a guest lecture at the University of Bergen (UiB).

Thursday: First, there will be a lecture on #socialclasses, which will be followed by a lecture on #gender and #equality.

Monday: "Introduction to #UsesofthePast, #HistoricalConsciousness and #MemoryCulture" and "Expansion, #Resources and #IndigenousPeoples in a #HistoricalPerspective" in a combined lecture.

Tuesday: "#Uses of Myth and History in #Antiquity"

This morning, I received the proofs for an article based on my doctoral thesis! More is hopefully coming - both in terms of articles (both dealing with federalism and identity) and, hopefully eventually, a monograph :)

This included discussing the role of the Norwegian Seamen's Mission in Norwegian trade with industrial ports in the United Kingdom.

The class was conducted in person for students at #CampusStord and digitally for students at #CampusSogndal.
As part of the section on Norway's industrialisation, I had the opportunity to include some fascinating materials related to the work I have been doing at the Norwegian Church Arts Centre.

This week, I taught a class on the industrial revolutions, focusing on the political, social, and cultural roots of the #FirstIndustrialRevolution in the #UnitedKingdom, the #SecondIndustrialRevolution in #Germany, and the industrialisation of #Norway.

I am really looking forward to this talk 🙂

My next #ancienthistory talk will likely take place in #Bergen at an invited seminar titled "Gods and Legends: #Festivals, #Myths, and #Religion as Methods of Forging Identity in Ancient #Arcadia and #Aetolia" for their research group in the Ancient World 🙂

I did, indeed... Phocis, Boeotia, Arcadia and Aetolia were all a part of my thesis :)
As long as I am in a post somewhere, I will always include other regions in my teaching. But I feel at least some of the other regions should be a part of any introduction course on Classical Greece :)

I made sure to include Boeotian federalism in a general history introduction course for students pursuing a Norwegian teaching education degree last semester... I had to include some Athenian democracy in it, but I am so happy to have included something other than just Athens and Sparta :)

The class focused on the #Renaissance, #Reformation, and the European Wars of Religion (until the #PeaceofWestphalia). I look forward to teaching on various #history and #socialstudies themes throughout the semester.
