I love technology; i think plenty of AI is good like the one that makes voice to text; auto translates languages; or medical AI used to scan x rays and MRIs.

But I’ve used a lot of GenAI for jobs now; it seems bad to me. it’s being forced into areas it’s not needed and it creates errors.

And yes, I don’t want it ever to have that permission. The solution is just to use the calculator directly, or at a minimum have AI tell me: use a calculator for this.

Capitalists love GenAI because it allows them to capture knowledge from workers, then hire less workers to do the same job.

Sure it has a 20% error rate but it’s free, well; it’s free once you get taxpayers to cover the data center costs..

GenAI doesn’t even know math like a calculator does. I once asked it a math question like “ what is the hourly wage for someone earning $52,000 a year, working full-time?” and it told me, “ the answer varies but it’s between …” then it gave a range of numbers which weren’t even close to correct. 🤦
