The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

Yes! There a 100s of books I would love to listen to that don't exist in audio. A cheap version would be great, and a reasonable use of AI

However well (human) produced audiobooks are excellent, especially when narrated by the author, or other great speaker & AI should stay the fuck away.

I own the hard copy, but I'm a sucker for stuff like this (and authors narrating their own audiobooks). I'll be checking this out.
