I moved to California 10 years ago. For nine of those years, I never got sick, and told everyone back in Canada that that was the best thing about California. We had a baby a year ago, and I have been sick for 40% of her life. So my takeaway is that I guess we can move back to Canada now.

No longer in Vegas. Reading about a real city.

Saying this after experiencing Vegas’ “AWARD WINNING / BEST IN CLASS” in-game experience. Like, sure, it was fine. Once the game started I may as well have been at the CTC.

I’ve been to NHL games in a half dozen markets and it seems important to point out that in-game experience is highly overrated and once the game gets started all of these games are the same. Outside of arena location and concession prices it’s just live hockey, it’s great.

Went to a Vegas Golden Knights game. Some observations, as an Ottawa Senators fan:
- The Sens’ in-game experience has room to be a LOT more stupid
- they hang up a banner for every team in the league, which is sort of sweet
- half the arena left after the second period of a game they were winning

Saw a men’s beer league team in Ottawa named Steak Fed Babies and it’s honestly demented that enough people would know what that means that it would qualify to be a team name.
