08.12.2025 04:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Fwiw, as a musician on the extremely long tail: YouTube Music pays us about 3/4 of a penny per stream, which is more than Apple. Spotify decided last year unilaterally that it can pay us literally nothing per stream because we're below 1000 unique listeners per year. Fuck Spotify.

Oddly enough I also did a porkloin this evening! (W/ locally harvested apples for maximum autumn.) One miscalculation was that all 3 of the dishes I made wanted different temps, and I didn't plan ahead to adjust cooking times I could use a single temp. One of the many things my spreadsheet prevents!
28.11.2025 04:56 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Did not do my annual Thanksgiving spreadsheet, because I was "just doing something quick and easy" since it was just the two of us.
Took three hours instead of the forecast 1.5, sustained cuts and burns. Never again will I forsake the Spirit of Thanksgiving TPMs.
the only time i ever gave back to my community (cinephile dorks whose parents claim they can't see it but we suspect are messing with us a little)

21.11.2025 14:42 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hey Graphics Bluesky! I'm in Breda to give a talk on Slang-- I'm up Wednesday at 16:00. This one will cover Slang's features for making large shader codebases a breeze to work with, and avoiding #ifdef hell.
Check it out, or catch me at the conference if you have Slang Qs!
If you want the neural shading goodies, not to worry-- my colleague Andrew Allan will be diving into those, also Wednesday (14:30).

Great blog post!
On a related note: If you attend GPC in Breda next week, I highly recommend our talk "Neural Shading for Real-Time Graphics" (www.graphicsprogrammingconference.nl/2025/#neural...)
I got to do an explainer of neural shading-- with my NVIDIA hat on this time, and still full of Slang goodness! It's posted over at the NVIDIA developer blog: developer.nvidia.com/blog/how-to-...

When presenting at a Fast Forward session C. When leading a Birds of a Feather session D. When meeting with professional associates E. All of the above Gemini: None of the above. You should not wear a shirt printed with Hieronymus Bosch's The Garden of Earthly Delights at SIGGRAPH, regardless of the setting.
Tired: AI is untrustworthy because it can't figure out how many B's are in "blueberry"
Wired: AI is untrustworthy because it does not appreciate my darkly whimsical sartorial sense.
I'm also going to stick my head into some of the interesting stuff going on with Gaussian splatting standards as much as I can (as an attendee, not a speaker).
If you want to track me down and pick my brain about Slang, Gaussian splatting, neural shading, or standardization, give me a ping! (6/6)
