I'm no Ultra runner, but is there some other meaning to 'barefoot' other than that he's literally going to do 20+ miles on that Loop not wearing shoes?! On Rat Jaw?! Is this still technical term for something different?

Not only can I not imagine doing Barkleys, but to do Barkleys whilst needing to be witty enough to have a conversation with Laz whilst absolutely exhausted is a step too far. #bm100

I've been following Barkleys for a few years, but I've ever really followed this and Spine, so don't tend to know the runners outside of those two!

Because it's even tougher than last year...? CCW first loop is a nasty enough alteration!

No-one has completed Loop 1 at #bm100 in the first nine hours. I know it's CCW rather than CW but that still doesn't look promising for anyone doing the full 5 loops (generally the top runners who finish it are back around the 8:30 mark).
