(bravely) children shouldn’t be deprived of food or medicine

I’ve always said that I couldn’t work in sales, but I am incredibly good at selling things that I believe in. Have you heard about the concept of human rights, or literature?

This isn’t even an AI post as much as it is another anecdote in how social relations in America have been put through a blender of extreme market extraction at the same time that govt/charitable support for 3rd spaces, extracurriculars, social clubs, etc have fallen to their lowest point in decades.

This is shown by Old English, Old Norse and Gothic, where its descendants still had a grammatically neuter form.

Their masculine gender was introduced by Christianity.

A student is absent for whatever reason, say sports, or illness and they need to make up some work.

They take awhile to make it up, and then complete the work. Their parents want their grade immediately updated and they do too.

You have 180 students, so that's not possible. What happens?

First, Prop 8 banned gay marriage in California. I had a bunch of gay people in my life and felt righteously angry. Then the bathroom bills started coming down and it felt like the same bullshit.

Me trying to explain fascism to students: "A lot has to do with fear of supposedly stable gendered boundaries blurring, and how that maps onto racial and national hierarchies. But can I really say transphobia is the lodestone to fascism?"

The sources discussing in-class implementation focus on generating novel texts or adapting nonfiction materials. The only one that I saw that focused on modifying fiction is a gimmicky app that yes, exists, but has largely negative reviews and is not geared toward educational contexts. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m by no means an AI-defender, but I struggle to believe that any teacher is using AI to adapt fiction in the way this piece suggests. There are so many pressing issues; is this really one of them?
