As a Georgist I have to say that moment in Californian history is none of my business.

The greatest peaks in American history have been moments of proud openness and interest in the common good.

Conservatives mock liberals for having a wide moral circle. They say we have 'suicidal empathy' and allow ourselves to be bled dry by parasitic foreigners.

But in history it's hard to think of cultures dying from too much openness.

And many that have self-extinguished via failed selfish conquest.
