Bands no longer toured Ireland and the ones that dared come where treated like demi-gods
I was in the bookshop recently and have you seen @andrewhickey.500songs.com that Stephen Travers has an new book out

Yeah all the everyday places are reduced hours or closing leaving cinemas to become like the theatre
05.10.2025 19:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Leitrim was despised in the county. He was a terrible landlord but he was also a bugger for Traverse of the Presentment. That term is a legal mind melt but in practice you sued parishes for compo off the rates.
Leitrim was in Donegal because a recent road had encroached 2 inches into his land.
He was shot by bird guns, these are very low powered guns meant to fell birds without destroying the flesh.
We went to the road, it's on a massive curve surrounded by woodland. They were likely poaching when he came into view and they took their chance.
The accounts state, that the driver was killed outright, the secretary fell to the ground under the cart and was able to escape for help (another cart was also travelling down the road) unseen and that Leitrim fought his attackers until they eventually bludgeoned him to death with the butts
05.10.2025 19:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm seeing if a similarly violent line drawing depicting real events gets flagged
05.10.2025 19:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A black and white image of Lord Leitrim being shot for his political views. Those views being that he had better rights being rich than the people who lived in Donegal who were poor
The Murder of Lord Leitrim by gunshot. As @archivedelver demonstrates in his MA this image by the Illustrated Police News is absolute garbage
05.10.2025 19:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm still of the opinion that cinemas should put a lot of quality old stuff back on the big screen for a quick buck. I'm miffed we had to travel on Saturday because we missed Goldeneye which I would've bought a large combo to watch
05.10.2025 19:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah but now everyone feels that way. They should've stopped at Endgame but then why would they? It was such a massive phenomenon

But it reminds me of the GIF I post whenever TOTP is on and a tweeny boyband appears much to the derision of men who were in their twenties at the time
05.10.2025 19:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm finding this all incredibly healthy, sometimes things just pass you by or aren't for you (even if people think they are)
05.10.2025 19:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Of course not burnt stuff tastes nasty, we all know that. Roasting takes time and careful management. That's like claiming that one day cavemen left the grain out in the rain and it fermented and they drank it hence why we have beer. It's stupid if you even think about it for 5 minutes

My big problem is Feta, I absolutely hate the tastes but sadly in most places if you want a salad you will have two options Chicken Caesar (which is fine but very samey) or something with Feta in it. It's just depressing
