Anyway, I am DYINGGG to see the movie. I have faith in my Lord and Savior GdT to rescue the interesting story. Also Oscar Isaac looks filthy in the trailers and I want to lick him.

- Audiobook Voice Acting - rubbish. Awful. Honestly, some of my understanding of how damn whiny this book is probably comes from that. If the creature was as sniveling as the voice acting made him seem, he deserved to be shunned. Woof.

Some of my issues are just characteristics of the time/genre, but also I adore some contemporary books, so idek. She was very young when she wrote this *and it shows* - angsty and not in a fun way. 🧵

Finally clawed my way through the Frankenstein audio. Thematically interesting, questions about scientific ethics and toxic masculinity, well written, important, and also I really hated it. It’s a good story, just not told in a way I enjoy. 🧵

Just finished The Bayou by @ardenpowell.bsky.social - delighted that I bought it on a whim when looking for more gay southern gothic after Summer Sons. Very vibey and morally ambiguous. An excellent Halloween treat, and I will for sure be reading again.

Update - 8 chapters in, and All Of Us Murderers is an absolutely perfect book. Immaculate vibes. Still don’t know if this is an Elizabeth Peters gothic (human evil) or a Barbara Michaels gothic (supernatural) and I am LOVING every second. Wish I could call in sick and read.
