Saw Starter for Ten at Bristol Old Vic last night. Absolutely brilliant production and Mel Giedroyc is a complete superstar 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

As well as being so proud of the work this project does, I'm also a little bit pleased with how much excel I've learnt this summer (it's like magic! 😅)

In 2024-25 28 Universities In 6 regions across the UK and Ireland and approximately 1,900 children from 51 schools took part. The primary schools taking part meet the criteria for widening participation, with higher than average numbers of pupils receiving free school meals and/or a lower than average attainment level (pupils meeting expected standard in reading, writing, and maths) For the cohort in this study, the average number of pupils receiving free school meals is 39.9% (England only; nationally this is 25.9%) The average attainment level of the schools in our cohort is 56.4% (England only; nationally this is 61%)

We're so proud of the fact that last year we worked with schools in some of the least-advantaged areas across the UK & Ireland. And the kids really enjoyed the project 🤩

We've been super quiet over the summer with the whole team having a well-earned rest, but #SchoolTasking action is ramping up once again for the start of the 2025-26 season!

Last summer I posted some holiday #Taskmaster tasks for kids over on the other site and I thought it was worth sharing again here 😊 They're all designed that they should be low effort for you (well mostly!) but will hopefully keep the kids busy so you can grab a well deserved cup of tea ☕ 💌

Had THE BEST time running a couple of year 6 @taskmasteredu.bsky.social sessions in a couple of local primary schools. The perfect post SATs activity. The kids were brilliant, the teachers were happy, and I got to boss everyone around. Happy days!

To celebrate the finale of this current series of #Taskmaster we're finally eating the potato with goggly eyes from the school tasking champion of champions. It's been on quite a journey!

Oh my goodness, I had the best time. Everyone was so competitive and took to the tasks like ducks to water. And someone said I look like Susie Dent which is entirely not true at all but I'll absolutely take it 😂

My friend runs a lunchtime social club for older people and she's doing a #taskmaster session tomorrow. I'm tagging along and I'm very excited 💌

We say this every year (on platforms that Alex isn't really active on, because he gets embarrassed when people say nice things about him out loud...) but he gives so much time and attention to these kids, making their day just so special ✨

The biggest thank you to @dralistruthers.bsky.social for bringing me on as School Tasking coordinator 20 months ago. It continues to be the most varied, brilliant and fun job and I'm very privileged to be part of the team.
