The Minnesota shooter apparently used data broker websites to find the home addresses of the people he shot and murdered.

Congress has had years to do something about data brokers and they've sided with the tech lobby over and over again.

Their inaction is deadly.

It is actually nuts that even when the NYC political establishment was presented with a broad field of talented candidates w/ many ideas, in a time of generational change & anti-corruption, they STILL chose to line up behind scandal-ridden Andrew Cuomo.

If the Secretary of Homeland Security shows up in your state to say she’s “liberating” a city from the elected government, you’re goddamn right the state’s US Senator should barge in to ask some questions.

The people who defend Cuomo are mostly just calling him “strong” without context.

What the fuck does “strong” mean? Mostly, I think, loud.

But I also think that it affirmatively means something shitty like “you need to be a strong man to abuse women.”

it is absolutely true that lincoln tried not to get too far afield of public opinion on slavery, calibrating his positions and actions according to what he thought was the mainstream. but it is important to note that at no point did lincoln ever disavow or deny his *sincerely held antislavery views*

For those of you who knew Victoria Brownworth on Twitter, she passed away from cancer yesterday.

She was a fearless journalist who reported on AIDS in the 80s (when Reagan was ignoring it), lifted up the LGBTQ community, & rooted out corruption.

Her wife, Maddy Gold, died of cancer in 2022.

Is there a version of Juicy without diddy, I was annoying before but now it’s unlistenable with that freak whispering in my ear.
