An unusual dodecahedron object sitting in a museum display. Made of bronze, it has a circular hole in each face opening into a hollow centre, while each corner has a protruding knob.

One of my favourite mystery objects from the ancient world - a Roman dodecahedron.

Despite over 100 found across the Roman world, we still have no idea what they were for.

This one was found in Austria and is now in the Archaeological Museum of Zagreb, Croatia.
