There were alternative nights playing dance music before this but Sweatbox was one of Scotland's first actual event. Norman Cook, 808 State, The Orb and Graham Park. The Sunday evenings were due to the venues not wanting to give up their cattle market crowd on Fri/Sat night.

My first visit and thought that. The warm up music sounded as if it was coming from next door. First few songs seemed muted too. Got a lot better or probably just me.

9 quid a pint, over a tenner for wine or a GnT. Ridiculous even for an event and London.

8 for the first set though it was about 8:15 in reality. I'd aim for back of seven, 7:30 at the most as really busy venue but they were efficient enoug getting people in. Enjoy, it was ace.

First set last night was King Of Snake, Push Upstairs, Juanita, Dark Train, Kittens, Two Months Off the lot.

Underworld last night at the Brixton Academy. Two sets, 1st all the hits, 2nd banging techno with Born Slippy at the end. Bit different getting on it next to folk on their phones or just standing around but had a great laugh. The guzzler beckons.
