The text at the top says "Masakado Weaknesses and Resistances". There's seven icons for Physical, Fire, Ice, Electric, Force, Light, and Dark. All of them say Weak beneath them.

Been grinding through SMT V: Vengeance and gosh, this is still one of the scariest things to see when you go into the Masakado fight because yes, he's weak to every non-Almighty element, and after the first hit it's clear that it expects you to use your turns well

Then there's also the considerations for making it both big enough of a world to feel like a world, but keeping things simple enough to be able to be played in half hour sessions

It depends on the project; the current thing I'm messing with is a Tactics game but mechanically I'm having a hard time settling on classes, and story-wise I want there to be 12 countries in a large-scale war (mostly perpetuated by one country) that you take mercenary contracts from

not technically the kids of heroes, but Teen Titans was great and close enough to the concept/pre-established world that I think it's worth mentioning

Right, or at least long enough to where Naruto's no longer Hokage; gives enough time to have flashbacks, but gives enough distance for the world to have grown wide rather than tall

Think that's also why the one episode I liked was when Metal and Guy talk and fight each other. It's a character actually trying to deal with something they can't help

I think that hits the nail on the head for why I can't get into it or other series that do spinoffs like that

When the power scaling's started off so high, there's no space for characters to overcome weaknesses or turn those into their strengths, there's just writing whatever solutions to problems

"want it all but can't do anything" is so real dude

I've been trying to experiment with projects but it quickly grows to a weight that fatigues me just to look at
