There are many many small things you can do.
People ought to be doing this themselves as I'm not sure govt will be doing all they ought for us.
Green roofs, capture rainwater in a butt or several, build a bog garden, have a drive that soaks up water rather then repelling it into drains.
Plant a tree or two.

I've since bought a Β£10 heated propagator, which has lasted over a decade, and some cheap grow lights. I don't 100% need either - and I have switched the grow lights on yet!
If you have an allotment they'll be swapsies a-plenty.
Even down by the river, where guys roasted fish on cheap BBQs, has been swept away. Concreted over, with graffiti daubed on walls and sculptured balustrades to keep you falling in the Golden Horn.
I lived in Hull, the same happened there. Old terraced shops swept away for dull Aldi's.
I visited Istanbul in '93. I liked it. Not far from, what I thought was pretty central, I walked up this dirt road up a hill. The place looked v rough. Unpaved paths of soil and concrete, unfinished homes. It was rough and ready. I felt I was really travelling.
I assume it's gone now. Tidied away.
Just this past week I've tried to learn 'hello' and 'goodbye' in Polish just so I can try to convince a Polish carer we're not all arseholes.
Hello is easy, goodbye can be 'pa' or you could go for the slightly more difficult one, which I did, and get it right yet forget it in 30 seconds.
I've decided upon tinned chicken masala for lunch.
I'd invite you but I'm not sharing.
One guy I know sends money to Farage and thinks he's a member. I point out he gets little for his membership, unlike it other political parties. He doesn't care. Indeed, he books another ticket to a rally.
I think he can see the grifting - he doesn't care "they're all the same".
I daily talk with Reform supporters. It's incredibly frustrating how immune they are to reason.
They forgive Farage for everything, even whilst wanting others to resign over trivial misdemeanours or for things someone's made up.
I'm sure I've seen trials of this type for many years. It appears there isn't the will, or money to enact them widely enough, as we should be seeing them everywhere.
I erected my own, small, green roof around 2009.

A shamefully valid exercise.
Henry Riley takes @mrjamesob.bsky.social through five poorly covered stories concerning Nigel Farage's Reform which the media would already have highlighted if it applied the same level of scrutiny to Farageβs party as it does to Labour.
