Conservative MPs (if the data is released) are simply going to find the opposite of what they believe the tri-council is doing.

Unless releasing the data isn't actually about "fairness" at all.

In fact, a substantial amount of federal research funding, even through the Social Science and Humanities Research Council, goes to disciplines like business administration.

But, as @pinglamjoeip.bsky.social and I have written about extensively at this point, it is a complete myth that federal research funding is being unfairly allocated to "woke" or "leftist" research.

The data will include information that researchers provided with the understanding that it would remain confidential.

This includes demographic information on the applicants as well as peer review comments on applications.
