i know most people mean well but it’s hard to maintain any kind of momentum or excitement in the face of all this hyper granular how-to-protest advice

Classic cop behavior. Escalating every situation as fast they can in nearly every situation

The six or so blocks up and down 25th street look like this

I asked him about the ICE shooting people with pepper balls and he said protesters "were impeding" and that ICE "can do whatever they want". I said "thats sobering" and looked pretty troubled at the notion

"Probably as long as ICE is here"

3. I asked if he's seen NG and he said "No. Only way they'd be allowed on the ground is if they declare 'martial law' (he did air quotes) which they can't." Interesting use of "they".

4. Said protesting is "their (our lol) right" but they can't impede" ICE

His nametag read Patz. Stuff that stood out to me as follows:

1. Sheriff seems mostly concerned with keeping protestors off the street in front of the ICE facility and off of 25th street which is a pretty major N/S suburban thoroughfare

2. Asking how long the sheriff's would be on the scene,

11:15am state police/Cook County sheriffs have st jersey barriers all along 25th street and vehicles at every turn off of 25th from 290 to Roosevelt road. I pulled over to get gas at the station there on 25th and Roosevelt and asked a sheriff's deputy who's cruiser was parked there a bunch a Qs
