AMD stock skyrockets 30% as OpenAI looks to take stake in AI chipmaker OpenAI will deploy up to 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct GPUs over multiple years, beginning with a 1-gigawatt rollout in 2026.

OpenAI may have found an infinite money glitch. AMD stock is up 25% after OpenAI pledged to spend billions it doesn’t yet have on AMD chips over five years plus OpenAI gets 10% of AMD if it follows through.

Altogether, OpenAI has now promised $1T in purchases in deals with AMD, Nvidia, and Oracle.
