Um, wow. I was gone for, like, a month, because I got slammed with work and was running on a deadline (that I'm still running on), I come back and the place looks different and has a bunch of new features.

What all do I need to know about the new stuff? I'm a little lost lmao.

I promoted my books here on Bluesky back when I first joined. I don't wanna turn into a promo machine though, so I'm just doing it sporadically, since Bluesky seems like a whole 'nother beast compared to Twitter.

I really need to figure out how to manage my time a little better.

Pretty close to what I’ve got on my profile’s stats. I’ve been here 16 days. I think I read somewhere on here that you get one invite every two weeks but sometimes they give out more.

LOL yeah, I'm more of a scifi/fantasy type of reader, with some nonfiction (primarily WW2 history) sprinkled in.

And yes, both of those books are the start of series. The urban fantasy one (The Unnaturals) is almost done--I have two more books left to write/release in it. The post-apocalyptic series...well, I don't know. It's a bit ongoing at the moment, as I'm finishing up book six and am planning book seven.

My OTHER series is more a bit of a darkish urban fantasy series. It's more episodial and has been referred to as "Supernatural meets Mission: Impossible," which of course I totally stole for my marketing materials. It too is character driven, like my post-apoc series, and it's a free download too!

And it was also picked as one of Barnes & Noble's Best Zombie Fiction Releases of the Decade list, so I guess it has something going for it!

This is the first book I ever wrote, in revised/expanded edition. It's a post-apocalyptic series wherein a virus breaks out of the CDC in Atlanta. It's more about the survivors than the actual zombies, though; I get a lot of good reviews, including from people who don't normally read the genre.

I hesitate a bit to post promo here, but then I think, "Jessica, this is a new audience. A new gang of people, if you will, who might like to read about things like the destruction of the world via zombies or crazy people trying to spark off the Biblical apocalypse."

So that being said...

What record player is that? I've been in the market for one to replace the one I broke when I moved but haven't taken the plunge yet because I can't decide which one to get.

My cat's a bit similar. I rescued him when he was a kitten--found him under my mom's car. He had a bad burn on his back that was partially healed, and his little toebeans were all burned. I've had him seven years now, but he's still skittish, esp. around men who are wearing shoes.

LMAO I have a cat already, but I wanna get him a buddy because he's been acting kinda squirrelly since I moved him away from his dog friend at my mom's. The cat I'm eyeballing is a ragdoll--I've always wanted one, but they're a bit pricey.

No kidding! I tend to get super fixated and wrapped up in ONE thing and then everything else slides. In this case, it's been my editing work. Which is a shame, because I really need to finish writing this book so I can sell the audio rights and use the money to buy a cat lol.

Such is life with possible ADHD, though. You take the small accomplishments where you can. :)

I am very happy to say I actually got my apartment cleaned up today, though. Not that it was messy, per se. I've just been putting off some things, like vacuuming and dusting. I also managed to get a bit of writing done, which made me happy. All of that made me feel oddly productive.

I've been away a little bit. What've I missed here on Blue Sky? Anything interesting or useful I need to know?
