Bucky went in for his surgery half an hour ago and I am trying not to be too anxious about him. He spent all day being spoiled by all the vet techs and he is beloved by the staff. But any surgery is tough to go through.

Buckminster Fuller is scheduled for surgery on Thursday. He’s our first pug who requires a palette resection and nostrils enlargement. Hopefully he gets through without any complications!

We are somewhat estranged. I married a man who is more successful than he is and he hasn’t given my mom permission to come see me in years. We used to see them once a year at Christmas but they canceled this year because they didn’t want to go through the motions anymore.

My dad was traveling when I was born and didn’t see me until I was a month old. In spite of not being there and not planning to be involved in any way, he bullied my mom into doing natural childbirth. She complied even though he wouldn’t know if she hadn’t. 🙄

Husband is going away for the week so I am dragging out my mostly finished quilt projects that need space to complete. I have three quilts that need borders and three that need assembly. I also have a block of the month quilt that needs multiple days for the finishing kit.

Today is the third anniversary of us saying goodbye to our little werewolf after she battled cancer for most of a year. She hung on long enough for me to have one last birthday with her.

We are making a fancy roast beef tonight in her honor.
