I found building out my GDD was actually incredibly helpful as a foundation! It forced me to think about features I hadn't even thought of planning yet (which actually changed the flow of the game) I think it's less about doing what works for teams as finding the most efficient and creative way 😊

I keep reminding myself I'm still at the beginning of this journey despite picking up bits and pieces over the years.

I'm learning everything I don't know so I can strategize how to learn it! Lol

Have you played Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West? I LOVED them! Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is also a super fun game with a lot of great mini-game elements. I put in many hours lol!

All of this is to say that life is making me realize I need to spend more of my time doing what I love most, and that means focusing on the priority WIP. The draft is messy, but the only way out is through. 💜

I'm happiest when I'm elbows deep in a messy manuscript, but sometimes I need to work to refocus my scattered mind, to make sure I'm writing the right projects.

There's a trap we can fall into where we just develop ideas over and over, and it's fun and exciting, but it doesn't get words on the page.

Like most writers, I struggle sometimes with prioritizing my ideas, and the last few months, I've been very tempted by the shiny new thing.

Here's the problem: I wasn't writing books.

I've been feeling a bit scattered creatively lately. I'm getting words down, but not on my priority projects.

I think it's life stress getting in the way, but I'm not sure how to push past the doom and find the creative happiness I'm seeking.

I just want to lose myself in my worlds again.
