This is why I always hope the home team wins. I have no strong feelings about any sports team and my mild lingering fondness for the Dodgers is basically in memory of my dad.

I’ve never been a sports gal, but seeing this live on TV as a 10 year old is seared into my brain. The only other sports moment that came close was watching Kerri Strug’s vault live (especially b/c I’d recently badly hurt my ankle and knew how much it hurt).

As an aside, sometimes I think about little 5 year old David bringing home an art project and just wanting someone to gush and put it on the fridge and getting none of that except MAYBE from people who were paid to care and how Stevie is his very first real friend and I get so sad for him.

One of my favorite things about the show is how all the Roses grow but stay fundamentally themselves. David finds it in him to be a loving, supportive boyfriend/fiance and friend and ALSO gets frustrated because he doesn’t get his perfect moment-in-the-spotlight announcement moment.

Get you a best friend who looks at you with as much love and pride as David does when he watches Stevie sing “Maybe This Time.”

This is not a hot take by any means but my lord Howard Shore’s Rohan theme is sheer magic. I go back and forth on which motif in the LOTR soundtracks is my favorite and I almost always come back to Rohan.

My brother loves that dance and while I find it kind of amusing, it kicks me hard in my secondhand embarrassment squick.

Handedness is weird. My mom was left handed but ONLY for writing and, randomly, bowling. She always attributed it to breaking her arm as a kid and having to do lots of stuff right handed for a few months. I’m right handed except for which hand I use for my fork and knife. 🤷‍♀️

NGL, part of the reason for my blanket use of aunt, uncle, and cousin is that I do not even remotely understand everything beyond first cousins. Removed, second cousins, etc.? People have tried to explain it to me and it makes zero sense. If you’re family, you’re family. 🤷‍♀️
