I asked my House rep about this on a phone townhall earlier this week and her response was that the cost of healthcare was a bipartisan issue and the other stuff isn't, which might be true but is also cowardly and intimately unhelpful to, you know continuing to exist as a notional democracy

is it not weird that every day there’s a new video of anonymous masked men having the time of their lives beating/shooting/disappearing people and the dem response from the top down is “republicans want to double your health insurance premiums”

And I don't understand what an AI guy really gets out of hitting generate and glancing at something for 3 secs vs spending however much time it takes to create that something awash in ideas and techniques and thoughts and feelings. It's a completely disposable and impermeable relationship with art

Right, if you enjoy creating, it doesn't matter if what you do never makes it into any finished product. I have so many random pages of things I've written that might never go anywhere or weren't done with specific purpose, but I enjoyed creating the mood, setting, etc, and it was good practice

Creating art might start w "I want to read it so I'll write it" or "I want to see it so I'll draw it" but then it gets beyond that to "I want to write, draw, etc". The act itself becomes the reason do it and the outcome becomes secondary. I don't think these people ever get past that first impulse
