Dr. Erika McEntarfer told the truth, and it got her fired. I don't know what part she will play in the histories written of this era, but she is a revolutionary. At least by today's Orwellian standards.

I am not beholden to the whims of the current political climate. I am beholden to the love of God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is these I choose to amplify, not the chaos of the day.

For what it's worth:

As a pastor, my motivation for not endorsing political candidates has never been to avoid losing my congregation's tax-exempt status. My motivation is and always has been theological. As such, my practice will not now change in response to the IRS lifting that rule.

Missouri Senate gives initial approval to $100M in storm relief for St. Louis The legislation must still go through another vote in the Senate before moving to the Missouri House.

This is a step in the right direction. Let's hope this money gets distributed equitably on behalf of those who need it most.

This is tricky for me, a tension between empathy for how they were fooled and disgust that they didnt see what was (is) so obvious.

I am an ally; my goal is to stand alongside, to serve the cause and support the work being done by my LGBT+ neighbors, and to be a safe space for them. Friends, I see you, I love you, and I am here for and with you.
