It’s McAddled. I will admit I wasn’t actually *expecting* this specifically…but seeing that name attached to a defense of Hoover definitely gives me the “oh, OK, that makes more sense now” feels. Not for the argument itself, just the “why would anyone write this horseshit” bit.

No more voting for people who support or are willing to allow these things if it ensures their own continued access to power. The go along to get along, triangulating class of office seekers at every level - not just the very top - need to be voted out.

Sure, a lot of this is being driven by Trump - there will be no serious institutional reckoning over Epstein in the US while he remains in office. But it is a flashing red reminder that if we want any hope of better than lather, rinse, repeat, then the time of “look forward not back” must be OVER

I am no royal family -or even Britain - stan, but it strikes me that the difference between here and the UK right now on this issue is how we have to rely on shame to have any hope of seeing any of the Epstein class lose their perch, instead being able to rely on the law.
